UKSSD’s Civil Society Center

UKSSD’s Civil Society Center, which specializes in youth issues, receives around 45 children each month from both local and IDP families. The center organizes many educational and entertainment programs, including concerts, where parents can participate with their children. Additionally, there are team sport activities which aim to create a spirit of teamwork among children.

The center’s educational programs include teaching children numeracy skills in multiple languages, including Kurdish, English, and Arabic. In the center, either children or their supervisors can choose any team sport game. There are also activities to raise awareness amongst the children about topics such as personal hygiene, and how to develop healthy relationships with those around them.

Additionally, there are specialized courses to rebuild the abilities of the children, and to foster their talents through different activities, such as painting, singing, and storytelling. Each child can select any activity which appeals to them.

UKSSD’s Youth Center seeks to create a suitable atmosphere among children, where they can trust each other and build good relationships with each other.
