Workshops on child protection | Qamishlo, Syria

For quite some time, UKSSD teams have been offering free time activities and educational programs for children. These projects aim on the facilitation of educational opportunities for these children as well as the strengthening of their self-confidence and self-assurance while more and more inhuman ideologies thrive around them. These programs target especially children and adolescents and are often supplemented by workshops for mothers.

One of these workshops conducted by UKSSD Qamishlo team’s coordinator Siliva Ahmed focused on the general protection of children from violence, harassment and sexual abuse as well as on possible means of prevention and ways of taking action against it.

Furthermore, the group discussed the issue of probable psychological problems as a result of the civil war and how to empower children in becoming strong individuals and trusting one another.
