The event will bring together nearly 3,000 participants, including political leaders, representatives of international and regional organizations, the private sector, civil society, academia, youth, arts and the media, as well as donor agencies and foundations. The Government of Azerbaijan and UNAOC aim to explore new ways of promoting cross-cultural dialogue and understanding and to spark new partnerships and commitments. Furthermore, networking sessions at the Forum will provide an additional opportunity for existing and potential partners to explore collaborations to enhance the Forum’s objectives. Participants will also convene in plenary and breakout sessions, take part in partners’ exhibitions and award ceremonies. The Group of Friends meeting for official delegations will be organized as well. The Forum’s programme and concept note are enclosed.
The Youth Event is a unique international opportunity for young people’s civic and intercultural participation, conceived as a preparatory event of the UNAOC Global Forum. It seeks to maximize youth’s experience and contribution to the Forum, to facilitate learning, sharing and partnership building. Its main outcome will be the production of Narratives of Tomorrow, which will articulate participating youth’s vision and solutions for the world to “live together in inclusive societies” and chart the course for the way forward. The Youth Event brings together 150 international and local youth aged 18-35, selected based on their membership in youth-led organizations/networks/initiatives and their commitment to diversity and pluralism, nonviolence, peaceful and inclusive societies. As a selected candidate, your participation is crucial for the overall success of this event and for your continued work in your community. The Youth Event’s concept note is enclosed.”
