Humanitarian Needs Assessments of IDPs – Kobani, Syria

DOZ in coordination with HAO implemented a need assessment for IDPs fled from bombardment from Tal Abyad to Kobani and assign 30 volunteers on 21.10.2019 to collect the data.


The team covered western, eastern, and southern parts of Rural Kobani in addition to the city center of Kobani. 130 families were documented in this day. The team will continue mapping next days.


Mr. Ahmed Shekho, director fo DOZ in East Euphrates region said, there is 50 families who are living now in schools in Kobani center and they need urgent humanitarian aid in shelter, winterization, and food as three priorities.


The number are increasing due to onging bombardment and violence and fears from violations committed by Turkish-backed forces of FSA.


The need assessments are available to be shared with UN OCHA coordination office for Northeast Syria and international and local partners.
